ISO 24712 8601 Information Technology Interchange

This International Standard contains a collection of test pages that are in common formats that can be used to determine the performance of the cartridge for colour ink and colour toner. This test suite is not designed to print photos, but instead shows typical pages used by consumers. These pages can be used as per ISO/IEC 1998 and ISO/IEC24711.
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) and IEC (the International Electrotechnical Commission) form the specialized system to standardize the world. Through technical committees dealing with specific technical areas, national bodies who are members of IEC or ISO participate in the development and maintenance of International Standards. In areas of mutual interest that concern both organizations, the ISO and IEC Technical Committees work in tandem. They also carry by other international organisations both non-governmental and government, who are in liaison with ISO/IEC. ISO/IEC JTC 1 has been established as an inter-technical committee for the field of information technology. International Standards will be drafted according to the ISO/IEC Directives.
Part 2. Part 2.

Draft International Standards are circulated by the joint technical commission to national bodies for their approval. Publication of an International Standard is subject to approval by at minimum 75 percent of national bodies who have a vote. There is a chance that certain elements in this document could be protected by patent rights. See Information technology -- Office equipment for more info.

ISO and IEC will not be held accountable for the identifying of any of these patent rights. Joint Technical Committee ISO/IEC JTC1 was the responsible body for ISO/IEC 24712, which was prepared by Subcommittee SC28, Information technology. This new edition replaces and cancels that of the original edition (ISO/IEC 24712:2006).

This International Standard defines colour test pages that are used to determine office equipment's consumable yield. The test page collection comprises four pages of "customer" type and one page to determine the expiration date of toner or ink. These pages can be used for electro-photographic, inkjet printers and multi-function devices that have a digital printing path, i.e. all-in-one electronic photographic machine that has digital printing capabilities.

The International Standard provides a collection of test pages in one file format that could be used for testing the yield that can be consumed. The pages can be used in accordance with ISO/IEC 19798 as well as ISO/IEC2471. These pages are intended to be representative of some kinds of documents that can be used at work or at home. These pages are not meant to represent special applications like printing with photos. 2 Referrals to Normative Documents The following documents should be referenced for the purpose of applying this document.
